Editorial & Medical Review Policy
Last updated:
Modafinil is a Schedule 4 prescription medicine, and content about it must be held to a higher standard than ordinary marketing copy. This page explains exactly how the information on OzModafinil is produced, checked, sourced and corrected, so you can judge for yourself how much to rely on it.
What our content is — and is not
Our guides and articles are educational material written for Australian adults researching Modafinil. They are not medical advice, and they never replace a consultation with your GP or pharmacist. Every page carries a disclaimer to this effect, and our safety-critical content (dosage, interactions, contraindications) always directs readers to healthdirect Australia and professional care.
How content is produced
- Research. Writers work from primary sources: TGA scheduling and product information, healthdirect medicine entries, peer-reviewed literature indexed on PubMed, and NPS MedicineWise guidance.
- Drafting. Articles are written in plain Australian English. Where the evidence is uncertain or contested, we say so rather than overstating.
- Medical review. Content that touches dosing, safety, interactions, legality or medical use is reviewed by Dr. Rachel Thompson (BPharm, AACPA), our consultant clinical pharmacist. Reviewed pages display a "Medically reviewed by" notice with the review date; pages without that notice have not had pharmacist review.
- Dating. Every article shows its publication date and, when substantively revised, an updated "last modified" date. Dates in structured data match what is shown on the page.
Sourcing standards
- Health claims must trace back to a regulator (TGA, FDA), a government health service (healthdirect, NHS), or peer-reviewed research.
- We link to the specific source wherever practical rather than a homepage.
- We do not invent statistics. Figures about our own business (customers served, review averages) come from our internal order and review records; the review average shown on our reviews page is calculated from the reviews published on that page.
- Reddit and community sentiment is presented as paraphrased themes, clearly labelled — we do not fabricate quotes or usernames.
Commercial transparency
OzModafinil is an online retailer: we earn money when you buy products from us. That commercial interest is why our editorial rules exist — safety content (such as our safety guide) is deliberately written to inform rather than sell, including the circumstances in which you should not take Modafinil. No manufacturer pays for placement or favourable coverage in our brand comparisons.
Corrections
If you spot an error — factual, medical, or about our own service — email [email protected] with the page URL. Corrections that affect health information are prioritised, reviewed by our pharmacist where relevant, and reflected in the page's "last updated" date.
